Blog Hiatus is Over!

Well I’m back and hopefully continuous or at least frequent now in posting! I’ve taken too long of a hiatus and it’s time to let the world (or at least the few friends following) what we’ve been up to!

This past week, my sister-in-law’s sister had her baby! Charlee Grace. They live in Gainesville and only an hour away from Aunt Kayla’s house. Brad brought the kids over Saturday morning and Karsten, Brylee, and I set out on an afternoon of fun!

We headed to Grapevine Mills Mall because that is where you find Lego Land! After snacks at the Sonic food court, we rode the carousel. A first for Miss Brylee!

Then we headed to Lego Land. Of course we had already bought tickets online and were ready to go. I purchased the extra activity books, which of course ended up being a waste of $8, but who cares?!?! The kids loved it. They built and raced cars, played in the play land (i.e. germ incubator), and checked out all the displays! We caught a ten minute 4D movie that was complete with wind, water, and snow! The kids were not a fan. We left through the shop but not without purchasing Lego swords and shields!

After a cookie snack, we rode the Cubby Caboose to round out the day! It was all worth it to have the big hugs and thank you’s!! My niece and nephew are so very precious to me and I love spending time with them! Baby Andrews #3 will be here in 5 weeks and can’t wait to meet him or her!!

Karsten – Flag Football

Karsten is playing flag football at the YMCA this year and loving it! Here is a touchdown from last night’s game!! So proud of him!

Brylee – Memory Verse

Karsten is going to PCA this year for first grade and they memorize a bible verse each week. Kayla has been working on it with him, but was quite surprised when he stumbled and Brylee was there to fill in the missing word! Here she is reciting the verse! She is so cute, I just had to share!

Wonderful Weekend~

Wow!  What a weekend!  Craig, Josh, and I loaded up on Friday and headed for Lubbock!  Josh was getting to spend time with his mom while Craig and I spent the weekend with Brian & Lindley!  We had such a great time.  We were there for Cameron’s 2nd birthday party, which was Elmo themed and she had a ball, especially when the “real life” Elmo came to visit!!  She got lots of fun toys, books, clothes, etc.  But the best present was given by Deb Deb – a purple four wheeler!  Cam LOVED it!!

We met up with my mom, Brad, Kayla, Karsten & Brylee for lunch at Caprock Café! Karsten & Brylee got some treats from Aunt Kayla & Uncle Craig! It was too quick to get to really visit, but mom brought the last of our wedding gifts and we loaded up the car. Mom & Brylee headed back to Plainview and Brad, Kayla & Karsten were meeting us later at the TECH game!!

Bryan got a great spot for tailgating this year on the west side! We headed out about 3:00 to get things set up. Lindley and I made chicken enchilada pin wheels and homemade salsa. We got some chips & tamales from Pedro’s. It was so nice to be so close to the stadium, especially since we blew out SFA!! A special thanks goes out to Mike Hale for contributing the tent….even though it was NAVY BLUE and not black it definitely helped out a ton!! So fun to be back in Raider Land!! Sorry the pics aren’t all that great~

We said goodbye to the Herrings and Lubbock about 10:00 on Sunday morning but not before getting a Josie’s breakfast burrito on our way out of town! We had to be back in time for Josh’s first Cotillion meeting! He looked so handsome in his suit! They learned how to sit, how to greet others, the Rhumba, and the Fox Trot! He even got a huge Hershey’s bar for being a star student!! I hope he enjoys it as much as I did when I was his age. I’m hoping that since all his buds are in it, they will all have a good year!!

Needless to say, we were exhausted yesterday, but what a wonderful weekend!!
